CHARACTER DESIGN
Nibs is an entirely original young beaver designed around an instantly recognizable silhouette.
Very small, compact pear-shaped body.
Slightly oversized head relative to his body.
Rich dark chocolate-brown fur across the top of his head, back, arms and legs.
Slightly warmer medium-brown fur along the sides.
Soft cream-colored muzzle, lower cheeks, throat and small upper-chest patch.
Fur is slightly scruffy rather than perfectly groomed, with several irregular tufts around his cheeks, forehead, elbows and belly.
Two tiny rounded ears partially hidden inside his fur.
Large expressive warm amber-brown eyes with clearly visible irises and natural highlights.
Eyes are expressive but retain believable animal anatomy.
Small glossy dark-brown triangular nose.
Two clearly visible oversized cream-colored front incisors.
The two teeth are slightly uneven, with one sitting subtly lower than the other, creating a memorable but natural asymmetry.
Short powerful arms with small dark paws.
Large hind feet.
Short legs.
SIGNATURE TAIL
Nibs has an unusually large, broad dark-brown flat beaver tail, nearly the length of his torso.
Rounded paddle shape.
Clearly visible realistic overlapping scale texture.
Thick where it connects to the body and gradually flattening toward the end.
The tail should feel slightly oversized for Nibs and become a major part of his silhouette and physical comedy.
It must remain identical in every view.
FACE
Friendly and intelligent.
Nibs should naturally look as though he is constantly figuring something out.
His thinking expression should involve slightly narrowed eyes and a tiny head tilt.
His excited expression should use widened amber eyes and raised posture.
His panic should remain cute and readable without extreme facial deformation.
No human eyebrows.
No clothing.
No hat.
No tool belt.
No glasses.

STORY
Nibs discovers a gigantic jungle canyon blocking him from an enormous beautiful red fruit on the opposite side.
His first hilariously inadequate bridge attempt fails instantly.
He then drags an enormous fallen log toward the canyon.
The log accidentally escapes his control, but impossibly lands perfectly across the gap and becomes a bridge.
Nibs proudly crosses.
Just before reaching safety, the log begins cracking beneath him.
He escapes at the last possible moment and reaches the fruit.
But when Nibs grabs it, the surrounding landscape begins moving.
The supposed jungle hill beside him is actually the enormous moss-covered shell of a colossal sleeping tortoise.
One gigantic eye opens beside tiny Nibs.
Cut immediately to black.
VISUAL STYLE
Premium photorealistic 3D CGI animated feature-film aesthetic.
Detailed individual fur strands.
Expressive but believable character animation.
Spectacular tropical jungle environment.
Gigantic sense of scale.
Warm sunny daylight.
Rich saturated greens.
Natural atmospheric haze.
Cinematic global illumination.
Realistic wood, bark, moss, rocks, soil and vegetation.
Physically believable gravity, weight, collisions and momentum underneath exaggerated animated comedy.
Use scale contrast aggressively:
tiny Nibs + enormous environment.
Camera movement should make the adventure feel huge while Nibs remains visually readable.
No dialogue.
No captions.
No text.
No logos.
No HUD.
No humans.
No random additional animals before the final tortoise reveal.
ENVIRONMENT
One continuous lush tropical jungle highland.
Nibs stands beside an enormous deep canyon separating two jungle cliffs.
The opposite side is approximately 8–10 meters away.
Dense vegetation covers both sides.
Massive trees rise from the jungle below.
Mist hangs deep inside the canyon.
The bottom is so far below that it is barely visible.
On the opposite cliff sits what appears to be one enormous glossy red tropical fruit among moss and vegetation.
IMPORTANT: The fruit is physically attached by a short stem to the hidden colossal tortoise's head, but this connection must remain concealed by foliage and framing until the final reveal.
The audience should genuinely believe it is simply a fruit sitting near the opposite cliff edge.
SHOT 1 — 0:00–0:02
HUGE IMMEDIATE HOOK
Extreme wide shot from behind Nibs.
Start immediately with scale.
Tiny Nibs stands at the very edge of a gigantic jungle canyon.
Far across the impossible gap sits one enormous, perfectly ripe glossy red fruit.
Nibs stares at it.
Camera slowly pushes forward behind him.
Wind moves his fur.
Leaves drift through the canyon.
Nibs looks downward.
SHOT 2 — 0:02–0:04
Extreme high-angle POV looking downward past Nibs' feet.
Reveal the terrifying scale of the canyon.
Vertical jungle-covered rock walls descend hundreds of meters into mist.
Tiny birds may be visible extremely far below only as indistinct distant silhouettes, never as characters interacting with Nibs.
Nibs quickly pulls his head backward.
He looks across at the fruit again.
His stomach growls.
Determination.
SHOT 3 — 0:04–0:06
Medium side shot.
Nibs looks around.
He spots one ridiculously tiny stick lying beside him.
His eyes light up.
Idea.
He proudly grabs the stick with both paws.
Walks to the canyon edge.
Places one end over the gap.
Lets go.
The stick immediately tips downward and disappears into the canyon.
Nibs freezes.
He leans forward and watches it fall.
Long beat.
From impossibly far below:
tiny distant TOK.
Nibs slowly blinks.
SHOT 4 — 0:06–0:08
Close-up.
Nibs looks at the canyon.
Looks toward the fruit.
Looks behind himself.
His eyes suddenly widen.
Camera whip-pans with his gaze.
Behind him lies an enormous fallen jungle log, several times longer than Nibs and thick enough to form a real bridge.
Nibs' expression becomes extremely confident.
SHOT 5 — 0:08–0:11
Wide side tracking shot.
Nibs grabs one end of the gigantic log with both paws.
Pulls.
Nothing.
He pulls harder.
His feet slide across the dirt.
Nothing.
Nibs changes strategy.
He moves behind the log.
Places both paws against it.
Pushes.
His entire tiny body strains.
The log barely moves a few centimeters.
Nibs stops.
Looks backward at his enormous flat tail.
Idea.
SHOT 6 — 0:11–0:14
Low side shot emphasizing Nibs' tail.
Nibs turns around.
Plants his oversized flat tail firmly against the end of the log.
He braces both hind feet against a rock embedded in the ground.
He pushes backward using his legs and entire body.
The tail visibly compresses against the bark.
Nibs strains.
The log slowly moves.
SCRRRRRAPE.
Again.
Nibs pushes harder.
The log slides farther toward the canyon.
Every movement has clear physical contact and cause.
SHOT 7 — 0:14–0:16
Wide shot.
The log suddenly clears the small rock that was resisting it.
Its weight takes over.
It begins rolling forward on its own.
Nibs' expression changes instantly.
Confidence → confusion → panic.
The log rolls toward the canyon.
Nibs runs behind it, desperately pushing backward against it with both paws.
But he cannot stop its momentum.
SHOT 8 — 0:16–0:18
Dynamic side shot.
The huge log reaches the canyon edge.
Nibs dives sideways.
The log rolls partially over the edge...
tips...
falls forward...
and rotates downward.
For one terrifying moment it looks as if the entire log will disappear.
Then:
BOOM.
Its far end slams perfectly onto the opposite cliff.
The enormous log is now wedged securely across the canyon.
A perfect accidental bridge.
Silence.
SHOT 9 — 0:18–0:20
Medium shot on Nibs.
Nibs slowly lifts his head from the dirt.
Looks at the log bridge.
Looks toward the fruit.
Looks back at the bridge.
His mouth slowly opens.
He cannot believe that worked.
Nibs stands.
Brushes dirt from his fur.
Puffs out his tiny chest as though everything happened exactly according to plan.
He confidently steps onto the log.
SHOT 10 — 0:20–0:23
Wide lateral tracking shot showing canyon below.
Nibs walks across the log bridge.
At first carefully.
Then increasingly confidently.
Halfway across, he starts strutting.
His giant tail swings behind him.
The red fruit grows closer.
Nibs smiles.
He is almost at the opposite side.
Then:
CRACK.
Nibs freezes mid-step.
SHOT 11 — 0:23–0:25
Close low shot on the log beneath Nibs.
A thin crack appears in the bark.
Nibs slowly looks downward.
CRACK.
The split grows.
His eyes widen.
Another crack shoots along the log behind him.
Nibs looks toward the opposite cliff.
Then backward.
Then forward.
Decision.
RUN.
SHOT 12 — 0:25–0:27
Fast side tracking shot.
Nibs sprints across the final section of the log.
Behind him:
CRACK-CRACK-CRACK-CRACK.
The log splits progressively from the center outward.
Chunks of bark fall into the canyon.
Nibs runs faster.
The bridge collapses immediately behind his feet.
At the final instant, Nibs jumps.
He flies through the air.
Lands belly-first on the opposite grassy cliff.
Behind him, the broken log disappears into the canyon.
Silence.
Nibs survived.
SHOT 13 — 0:27–0:28.5
Medium shot.
Nibs slowly raises his head.
Directly in front of him:
the enormous glossy red fruit.
His eyes become huge.
Everything else is forgotten.
He stands.
Walks toward it.
Wraps both paws around the fruit.
Huge victorious smile.
He pulls.
The fruit does not move.
Nibs pulls harder.
Something beneath the surrounding moss shifts slightly.
Nibs stops.
Confused.
SHOT 14 — 0:28.5–0:30
FINAL REVEAL
Camera rapidly pulls backward and upward.
The ground behind the fruit begins rising.
Moss.
Vines.
Small bushes.
Huge sections of what appeared to be the jungle floor move together.
Reveal:
It is not ordinary ground.
Nibs is standing beside the head of an absolutely colossal ancient jungle tortoise.
Its enormous moss-covered shell blends naturally into the surrounding landscape like a living hill.
The red fruit is attached by a short natural stem to a plant growing directly on top of the tortoise's head.
Nibs remains tiny beside it.
Then...
One gigantic amber tortoise eye slowly opens immediately beside Nibs.
Nibs freezes.
His paws are still wrapped around the fruit.
He slowly turns his head.
The enormous eye focuses directly on him.
Nibs' confident smile disappears.
CUT TO BLACK.
STRICT PHYSICS + CONTINUITY
Every major movement requires a visible physical cause.
The canyon remains the same width and geography throughout.
The fruit remains on the opposite side throughout the bridge sequence.
The large log exists visibly in the environment before Nibs uses it.
Nibs physically pushes the log.
The log moves only because Nibs pushes it and gravity takes over after it clears the resisting rock.
The log cannot magically reposition itself.
The far end physically collides with the opposite cliff to create the bridge.
The bridge remains the exact same log.
Cracking begins only after Nibs is already crossing.
Nibs must visibly outrun the progressing structural failure.
The tortoise does not appear from nowhere.
Its moss-covered shell and head have always been integrated into the opposite-side landscape but framed and textured so the audience interprets them as rocks and terrain.
Only during the final reveal does the camera expose its true scale and anatomy.
No teleportation.
No spontaneous object movement.
No unexplained transformations.
NIBS PERFORMANCE RULE
Nibs should not behave scared all the time.
His core comedy is:
questionable idea → absolute confidence → unexpected chaos → brief panic → accidental success → pretends it was intentional.
Make his tiny pauses and eye movements important.
His oversized tail should visibly affect his balance when running and jumping.
His uneven teeth should remain visible during smiles without changing size.
AUDIO
Natural jungle ambience and strong canyon wind.
Light playful orchestral score begins immediately.
Distant echo when the tiny stick falls.
Extremely faint TOK from deep below.
Comedic musical beat when Nibs spots the giant log.
Heavy bark scraping as he moves it.
Straining sounds.
Deep wooden rolling sounds.
Increasing rumble as the log approaches the canyon.
Huge BOOM when it lands across the gap.
Brief silence.
Small proud musical flourish as Nibs begins crossing.
Sharp CRACK.
Music immediately becomes fast and frantic.
Rapid footsteps.
Progressive wood cracking behind Nibs.
Falling debris echo.
Heavy landing when Nibs reaches the opposite side.
Music becomes warm and victorious as he approaches the fruit.
Small pulling strain.
Then:
low deep environmental rumble.
Music slowly disappears.
Leaves rustle.
Branches creak.
Extremely deep tortoise breathing becomes audible.
One gigantic eyelid movement.
Tiny nervous sound from Nibs.
CUT TO BLACK with one deep orchestral hit.
